iOS HIG Colors
Apple's Human Interface Guidelines color system — 47 named colors spanning system colors, accessible variants, grays, and semantic UI colors. Every color has both a light-mode and dark-mode value.
About iOS system colors
Apple defines a set of dynamic system colors in the UIKit and SwiftUI frameworks. These colors automatically adapt to the current appearance (light or dark mode) and to accessibility settings such as Increase Contrast. Using system colors instead of hardcoded hex values ensures your app's UI adapts correctly across all display modes.
The 12 system colors (blue, green, red, etc.) are the primary chromatic palette — vibrant, readable, and used for interactive elements. The accessible variants provide higher contrast and are activated automatically when users enable "Increase Contrast" in Settings. The semantic colors (label, background, fill, separator) are context-aware and shift appearance based on the current interface style.
The hex values for label, fill, and separator colors here are solid-color approximations of the semi-transparent values that Apple specifies. For exact values, refer to the official Apple developer documentation.
